Going up and down Main Street or Butler Road and speaking with business owners, the overarching theme they express is that Mauldin is not business friendly.
While we have to maintain established rules and regulations for business operation and compliance, common sense also has to be a component of those rules.
Instead of telling a small local business it can’t open, Taft Matney believes we need to work with business owners to navigate the channels of City Hall to help them open.
Instead of creating adversarial relationships with Mauldin’s business community, Taft Matney knows that we need to work together with them because their success is our success.
Taft Matney understands that business creates jobs, that jobs feed the economy, and that Mauldin needs a vibrant economy to thrive. Being “business-friendly” has to be more than a catchphrase. It has to be a true mindset.
