The last four years have been incredible.
When I first ran for Mauldin City Council in 2013, I laid out a vision for the city’s future. The majority of voters said they agreed with that vision, and for four years, I’ve been fortunate to work toward those goals.
Our city has made significant strides toward planning for Mauldin’s future, and I’m extremely appreciative and humbled for the trust placed in me for a second term.
Being unopposed in this election isn’t something I take for granted. It’s humbling and an honor. It’s a signal that people still support the direction we’re moving but that we can’t rest and let off the gas just because we’ve made progress.
Whether it’s expanding parks and recreation options, preparing for the downtown master plan to come to fruition, recruiting new commercial development, supporting existing business, keeping our residents safe, or even making sure the trash gets picked up on time, we can’t become complacent.
I want to thank my family who continues sacrificing when I’m in a council meeting until 11:00 at night, I want to thank everyone who has supported our campaign, and I want to thank an incredible team working for the City of Mauldin.
I love serving this city and am grateful for the opportunity to serve in Seat 1 for another term. Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Taft
