My grandfather served in the Navy. My dad served in the Army. Almost everybody I know can say they same thing about at least one of their family members.
They put on uniforms of our nation’s armed forces to keep their families, friends, neighbors, and country safe. While they may not have thought about it at the time, they also did it in the hopes that my son and his children won’t have to.
I will never be able to repay that debt to them.
The City of Mauldin will hold a Veterans’ Day salute at the Veterans’ Memorial Wall outside the Mauldin Cultural Center this morning (November 11, 2013) at 11:00 a.m. where both the wall itself and new visitors’ benches will be dedicated.
Please take a few minutes out of your day to say, “Thank you,” to the men and women who serve and served in our military and our country with honor.
