As we keep moving closer to this year’s city council elections on November 5, I continue to be amazed at the amount of support our campaign is receiving.
At the Fall Festival in Knollwood and at our meet-and-greet in Forrester Woods last night (and a huge “Thank You” goes out to the entire host committee who initiated and organized the event), I had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a number of folks – both new to the area and long-time Mauldin residents – about the issues our city is facing.
Then, I had the chance to talk to the entire group about why I’m running, about a vision for Mauldin, and how important our city’s future is.
We shared laughs together and talked about what the city is and isn’t doing.
Charlotte’s Campaign SignThe highlight of the night came from Charlotte – a 4th grader who keeps asking her parents why we’re running this campaign and who is excited about creating a future for Mauldin she’ll be proud of.
“Mr. Matney is working so hard,” Charlotte tells her parents as she hears people talking about why this election is so important. “I REALLY hope he wins.”
Well, Charlotte, I know you can’t vote yet, but you’re a big part of the reason I’m running for Seat 1 on Mauldin City Council.
By the way, for all of the signs we have in yards and businesses throughout the city, the sign you made is by far my favorite.
For anyone who plans on voting in Mauldin on November 5, as I do each and every time, I want to thank you for your support and to ask for your vote. Charlotte wants you to vote Matney for Mauldin, too.
